Academy honor
The United States Achievement Academy announced that Justin Roberson from Bismarck has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in world languages.
Roberson, who attends Bismarck High School, was nominated for this honor by Ann Zuger Pearce, a teacher at the school.
Roberson is the son of Tom and Evie Roberson and the grandson of Delores Reisenauer and Dune Mack, all of Bismarck.
Magazine recognized
Last year’s edition of Century High School’s literary magazine “Riot” took second place in best-of-show competition at the National Scholastic Press spring convention in Seattle. The “Riot” was the only literary magazine from the Midwest to place in the competition. At the fall competition held in Minneapolis, the magazine also took a second place nationally. Magazines were judged on layout, design, quality of art work and writing and theme development.
