• LAKE DON PEDRO — Guide Gary Vella has been limiting out on king salmon to 2½ pounds by rolling shad up the river arm and into Woods Creek at 60 feet. A two-day king salmon tournament is set for this weekend. Guide Monte Smith reported good rainbow action by fast trolling heavy spoons at 5 to 7 colors from Hatch Creek to Mexican Gulch. Largemouth and spotted bass are moving up quickly as water temperatures approach the mid-50s, but this week's cold front could push them back into deeper water. Robo Worms Hologram Shad or Pro Worms Pro Gold are working on the drop shot at 20 feet, and the swimbait bite remains good with the 8-inch Huddleston ROF 12 in rainbow trout or the ABT Multi-Rig filled with shad patterned baits.
