According to Sabb, Fiberceutic uses a proprietary compound called Intra-Cylane that's designed to plug holes and cover gaps in the hair's cuticle. Basically, when applied to wet hair, Intra-Cylane has a chemical reaction with water. It gets absorbed into hair, where it changes from a liquid to a solid and "fills out" the hair shaft again.
