Lunenburg has a lot on its plate. Residents are being asked to approved a $2.2 million Proposition 2 1/2 override that will permanently raise the average property-tax bill about $500. Town officials say the extra cash is necessary to stave off deep budget cuts.
The town is facing an $11 million price tag for critical repairs at Lunenburg High School if it does not receive help from the Massachusetts School Building Authority for a renovation or new building project, according to John Londa, the school district's facilities and grounds director.
And winding their way through the approval process are two large-scale solar projects -- one solar farm on 20 acres owned by Twin City Baptist Church and one off Chase Road on 25 acres.
Meetings have been held regularly on all three subjects,
