On what’s supposed to be the last day of summer weather, a cool breeze was appropriately the inspiration for Odile Gilbert’s hair backstage at Phillip Lim. After coating strands with Kérastase Fibre Architecture, a yet to be released product that’s both a texturizer and a treatment conditioner, she parted straightened hair on the side and separated it into two low ponytails. These were then knotted at the neck and four little strands were pinned to the head as if blown back by a gust of wind. Perhaps in an allusion to the raincoats in the collection, nails were painted a custom blend of CND Raspberry Parfait , Guava and Speedy top coat. Francelle Daly for Nars created what she described as “dewy, fresh, skin” with Radiant Tinted Moisturizer intended to contrast “a edgy, heavy metallic eye.” Night Life shadow was applied in the crease to make a demi lune; underneath it, a hollow of bare skin. The silver Paris Duo was used along the eyebrow and Rue Bonaparte neutral liner in the duct. Not one but six coats of mascara were applied to lashes. “Romantic and rebel,” is how Daly explained this juxtaposition. Lips were covered in concealer and topped with Gaiete blush to create color in a fresh way. You know, these things change with the wind.
