Having visited a fair few hair salons in the capital when I first moved here desperately searching for my colourist "soulmate" and finding that most of them gave a first impression that left a lot to be desired, the ST Beauty Salon at Abu Dhabi's Sheraton, Corniche was my final stop and I have not looked back for five years now. The slick modern interior in white, with comfortable black leather seats evokes the feeling of being in a design studio, which is appropriate given the level of expertise among the highly professional and skilled team of hair technicians. They are ambassadors of both Kérastase and L'Oréal Professionel who provide them with regular training — at home and abroad — on all their latest products and techniques.
There is a range of in-salon treatments to suit all hair types, but since my hair is straight and highlighted, it tends to be dry, with damaged ends. So I opted for the Kérathermie by Kérastase. I've tried different conditioners, masques and home treatments over the years, none of which had long-lasting benefits, so I was a little sceptical as to how this in-salon treatment would differ.
